A Life Between Names

Alexandra (Lex) Roberts has spent five years perfecting the art of survival.  Measuring every word, hiding bruises beneath designer clothes, and living in constant calculation of her husband Marcus’s volatile moods. When she finally escapes on her late father’s 1974 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead, she leaves behind everything except a worn leather jacket and the determination never to be controlled again.

In Redemption Falls, Montana, she uses a new name and finds an unexpected home in the small town.  When she meets Bas Garrett, the local motorcycle club’s vice president, a misunderstanding validates her fears.  But Bas is haunted by his own losses. He recognizes the fear behind her careful and watchful demeanor, and shows her the difference between control and devotion. But Lex is building her new life on lies, and every day that passes makes the truth harder to tell.

When her dangerous past threatens her new home, Lex faces an impossible choice: trust the people who’ve sworn to protect her, or disappear again to keep them safe.
